The Windcoop project aims to develop a fleet of sail-powered cargo ships, with high decarbonization targets and the desire to operate vessels designed to use the wind<\/span> as their main means of propulsion, and the engine only when the wind is weak for too long.<\/p>

<\/p>

The DNA of this cargo ship is very different from that of the other sailing cargo ships we have developed with our partners. For all our other projects, we started from the logic of motor cargo ships, which we developed in conjunction with design offices specializing in motor cargo ships, such as Ship Studio and Groot Ship Design. Then, starting from these “conventional” designs, we made concessions to come up with a design that allowed us to use sailplanes<\/span> and get the most out of them, with the minimum loss of loading capacity.<\/p>

<\/p>

For the Windcoop boat, we took the opposite approach. In collaboration with the renowned architectural firm Dykstra, and with the help of Groot Ship Design, we designed a real sailboat<\/span>, on which we then optimized the hull in order to load containers.<\/p>

<\/p>

The result is a versatile, highly innovative vessel that we believe represents the future of shipping.<\/span><\/p>

<\/p>
