Roll-on Roll-off ships are well-suited to wind propulsion as no crane operations will impede the installation of sails on the deck.

However, the high speed often required (15 to 20 knots) by users of this type of ship can reduce the capacity of sails to significantly reduce the ship’s fuel consumption.

Stricter regulations ahead (EEXI, CII) will force ships to slow down, which will also favour the use of wind power on these ships.

We developed the Gwalarn to be operated at a reduced speed (design speed 14 knots).

The ship features three main decks used to transport unaccompanied trailers and two mobile decks to increase the load capacity of light vehicles.
The capacity is therefore of 185 trailers or 105 trailers and 700 light vehicles.
